During their stay, female students are required to follow a strict set of rules that help to construct character, discipline, and stability. These qualities are all key to the recovery process. Prayer is a foundational step, and there are daily schedules for prayer time in which participation is mandatory. However, discipline is never enforced without love. Students receive pastoral counseling and the attention of a caring staff who devote their time to ensuring each resident receives individual care for their individual needs and problems.
The women's program provides many special-needs counseling and development programs uniquely tailored to combat the issues faced by women who have battled drug and alcohol addiction.
Schedules for female students vary by campus, but are similar to the men's schedule. At campuses with male and female students, events are scheduled to separate the sexes as much as possible, providing an environment free from the distractions of the opposite sex.
Weekend schedules vary by campus, but include fundraising and outreach events, family visits, choir and church services. Aside from holidays and special events, there is not a lot of free time. This schedule is purposely designed to keep students busy and productive, with minimal time for reflection on their past lives in addiction. Personal reflection on the past is encouraged in a controlled educational setting with the opportunity to apply new principles and patterns of thinking with a focus on the future, instead of the past.
